Stolper Award

THE GUSTAV STOLPER AWARD

The Gustav-Stolper-Award honours excellent scientists who influence the public discussion with their research results and provide important contributions for the understanding and solution of economic real world problems.

The selection of the prize winner is based on the following criteria:

• The award winner should have accomplished exceptional results in the communication of economic topics outside of the scientific community (e.g. in the broad public discussion or in the political implementation of economic ideas).
• The achievement in communication should refer to scientific economic insights which should ideally be based on own scientific research.
• The achievement could also be founded in the application, realization or implementation of existing insights, models or theories to actual urging economic problems.
• The contributions should have impact on political decisions or the discussion in politics, mass media or the broad public.

The award is endowed with € 5000 and will be conferred yearly at the annual meeting of the society. There is no age limit. The award winner is determined in a broad election amongst all members of the Verein für Socialpolitik.
