How Can I Become a Member?

Members

Anyone who wants to support the objectives of the Verein and who is qualified to cooperate in the scientific purpose of the Verein für Socialpolitik is welcome to apply for membership. On January 1st 2008, the Verein für Socialpolitik had 3.651 personal members and 38 institutional members. Among the former are more than 1000 professors from universities in more than 20 countries, most of them in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Membership Fee

The Verein für Socialpolitik is a non-profit organization. The annual membership fee is currently € 70 for regular members. There is a reduced membership fee of € 40 for members who are under 40 and whose income does not exceed those of senior lecturers (German salary group C1).

Membership Benefits

Members of the Verein für Socialpolitik are eligible for reduced registration fees at the annual meeting. Our members also receive the two quarterly journals German Economic Review and Perspektiven der Wirtschaftspolitik.

Members eligible for the reduced membership fee can apply for a Lecture Premium of € 500, if they present a paper at a high-quality international conference outside the German language area.
